Internships & Training
Clinical Interdisciplinary Internship Program
As an accredited community behavioral health center, West Central Behavioral Health promotes higher standards of care for its community and its learners. Through ongoing cross-sector professional development and a broad venue of services offered to the community, our agency promotes higher standards of access and care to our clientele for sustainable change and wellness. The interdisciplinary work we do together promotes strong coordination between physical health and behavioral health needs. As such, our professional learning opportunities that students engage in support cross-sector training.
West Central’s clinical interdisciplinary internship program provides a robust organizational learning culture to support interns in our program. We offer clinical placements and training for an array of academic tracks and students, spanning from bachelor to graduate level placements for both health and behavioral health areas of discipline.
West Central’s learning culture provides comprehensive learning opportunities to support the growth of its staff, practicum students, and clinical intern cohorts. Our clinical interdisciplinary internship program meets CACREP standards and offers job opportunity training. Every intern cohort has access to regular individual and group supervision. Ongoing clinical cross-sector consultation is provided to all WC learners and interns. When applicable, students may engage in mentorship services to deepen their experience and meet the needs of long-term projects such as Capstones or pilot projects.
Among our many internship and professional development training opportunities provided to learners and students, selected interns will have the opportunity to work on pilot projects, community-based enrichment projects, equity initiatives, trauma informed care services, and in our mobile crisis unit.
From formal training to specialized mentorship, the West Central team provides an integrative clinical learning experience for student’s and learners to flourish in. To get more information about our application process and entrance windows, please see our internship program documents on our training webpage. We look forward to learning from you and helping you develop.
