Adult Services

Services for All

WCBH provides services for all and works to ensure culturally sensitive support for diverse populations, including minorities, BIPOC, and LGBTQ+ individuals. Language interpreter services are provided as needed for translation. Staff receive training in cultural sensitivity and are committed to creating a climate of acceptance throughout WCBH’s programs and locations.

Adult Outpatient Services

Individualized treatment for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and other mental health conditions. Utilizing a range of evidence-based therapeutic approaches including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Treatment may include:

  • Individual, Family & Group Counseling
  • Psychiatric Assessment
  • Psychopharmacology

Substance Use Services

Outpatient treatment for individuals coping with substance use disorders who have co-occurring mental health issues. Substance misuse may include alcohol, opioids, cannabis, cocaine, and amphetamine dependence. Individual & Group Therapy, Relapse Prevention, and Case Management modalities are available.

Care Coordination

Providing a comprehensive assessment of the need for additional medical, educational, social, or other services. Working with clients and other service providers to ensure access to these services by securing referrals for services and developing and monitoring the implementation of a care plan.

Treatment for Individuals with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness

Intensive treatment for individuals with illnesses such as schizophrenia and severe bipolar disorder is designed to support community-based living.

  • Community Support Program – Services largely delivered in community settings, including psychoeducation, interventions, and coaching. Additional services include care coordination, nursing, vocational services, and/or residential services. Utilizing evidence-based practices including Assertive Community Treatment, Supported Employment, Integrated Dual Disorders Treatment, and Illness Management and Recovery.
  • Enhanced Care Program – Support for developing competencies and skills, reducing self-harm and crisis behaviors, and increasing functioning in the community. Serving individuals with dissociative, affective, and anxiety disorders, including post-traumatic stress disorder and borderline personality disorder.

Older Adult Services

Older adults may struggle with the transitions and life changes they are experiencing. There may be signs that they need help, such as confusion, behavior changes, memory loss, or difficulty managing daily activities.

We provide psychiatric treatment, care coordination, and medication management in a variety of settings.

  • Treatment at our outpatient locations in Claremont, Newport, and Lebanon
  • Care coordination at home and in community-based settings
  • Residential treatment for 16 adults at Arbor View in Newport
  • Contracted services in senior living facilities

Supported Employment

Work can be an essential step on the path to recovery. Vocational Specialists help clients find and keep competitive jobs – assessing their skills and vocational interests, assisting their search for a job, helping them prepare for the interview, and providing ongoing support and guidance to help the client remain employed.

InSHAPE

A best practice aimed at improving physical health and quality of life for individuals with severe mental illness through promotion of exercise, healthy diet, and community inclusion. Clients work with personal health mentors to access fitness activities, develop good nutrition practices, and manage chronic health conditions.
